“Quilted” is full of gorgeous works of art, many of them featuring vibrant pops of color and elaborate patterns created by sewing together interlocking shapes on the top layer. While these are truly something to be admired, I found myself fascinated by the subtle patterns and line-work of the actual quilting on the items presented within this book. Often sewn with a matching thread, the viewer might not notice these details upon first glance, but they offer a rich texture to the surface of the finished piece and provide the structural integrity which holds the different layers of a quilt together. I chose to focus my design on the somewhat elusive qualities of quilted lines and make them the prominent element in this minimalistic binding. The goal is to draw attention to the element which is most likely to be overlooked in a casual glance.
